Delete your Vartul account & data
At Vartul we respect your right to control your personal data. If you would like your Vartul account and associated personal data deleted, this page explains what we remove, how to request deletion, expected timelines, and important notes before you proceed.
What data is deleted
When we process an account deletion request we typically remove:
Account profile information (name, email, contact details).
User-generated content uploaded or created by you (documents, files, notes, submitted forms).
Application settings and preferences associated with your account.
Authentication credentials (password, linked login tokens).
Metadata and records that directly identify you (where applicable).
What may not be fully deleted immediately
Some information may be retained for a limited time or kept in an anonymized/aggregated form for legitimate business, security, legal, or regulatory reasons — for example: backups, audit logs, fraud prevention records, or data we are required to retain by law. In many industry examples platforms also retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or for security investigations.
Before you request deletion (please read)
Back up anything you want to keep. Once deletion is complete, data cannot be recovered. We would advise users to export or back up their data first.
Deleting your account may affect connected services. If you use your Vartul login for third-party integrations, those connections may stop working.
Transactional records. If you need certain documents for institutional or regulatory reasons, please download them before requesting deletion.
How to request deletion
To request deletion, send an email with the subject line “Delete my Vartul account” to:
team@vartul.io
Please include the following in your email to help us locate your account quickly:
Full name used on the account
Email address associated with the account
Any alternate identifiers (user ID, organisation name, workspace name)
A short statement confirming you want your account and personal data permanently deleted
You may also reply from the email address registered to the account to help verify your identity.
Expected processing time
We will acknowledge receipt of your deletion request within 3 business days. Complete processing typically takes up to 30 calendar days from the date we verify your request. In some cases (for complex accounts, shared data, or legal holds) deletion may take longer; we will notify you if additional time is required. Many global services use a similar 30-day window for processing / deactivation.
Confirmation
Once deletion is complete we will send a confirmation email to the address on file. After that point your data will no longer be accessible through Vartul, except where retention is required or permitted by law (see “What may not be fully deleted immediately”).
Special cases & exceptions
Shared or collaborative data: If files or content have been shared with other users or organizations, we will remove your personal identifiers, but the shared content may remain accessible to collaborators (e.g., a document owned by the organization).
Legal or security holds: If we are subject to a legal hold or regulatory requirement (for example to preserve records for an investigation), we may be required to retain certain records despite a deletion request. In such cases we will inform you and retain only the minimum required information.
